AFTER SCHOOL ROBOTICS AND PROGRAMMING COURSE CURRICULUM
FALL SEMESTER, WINTER/SPRING SEMESTER
During the school year of our program, teachers put together classes that are derived from lessons within our pool of curriculum that supports NGSS Standards. The fall semester is a different course than our Winter/Spring semester. The Winter/Spring semester of our robotics program can be a continuation of the fall semester, but also allows new students to engage and participate as a beginner in an encouraging and supportive environment. Our instructors teach lessons from over 7 robotic platforms including but not limited to: Wonder Workshop Platforms Dash as well as Cue, Mindstorms and Labview Robotics, VEX Robotics, WeDo, Cosmo and more. Students engage with and learn fundamentals in a way that utilizes programming lessons and 'real world' classroom challenges to program autonomous robot automation and behavior using GUI programming languages. Team challenges are incorporated into each lesson, and students use what they have learned in class to solve challenges. All classes develop creativity, innovation, critical thinking, problem solving, and collaboration within the genre of computer science using robotic machines. But most of all, we encourage children to become conscious of their abilities, to problem solve, and to work together with others, all while having a fun experience in learning!

GRADES 1-2 / 1-3 (Beginner)
The Jr. robotics course (Grades 1-2) is a beginner course takes students on an introductory journey into the world of robotic machines. Students will be introduced to basic engineering challenges and programming concepts, as well as hardware and networking / troubleshooting. We use the following platforms for Jr. students in class: Lego Wedo Education, Cubelets by Modular Robotics, Dash with Blockly, and Cue. Students learn through playing, creating, programming, and building various machines in addition to creating programs, and utilizing motors, light sensors, distance sensors, power, inverse blocks, loops, conditions, and more! Our curriculum supports NGSS standards through STEM learning and is taught by instructors following ISTE teaching standards.
GRADES 3-6 / 4-6 (Beginner - Intermediate)
The Sr. robotics program (Grades 3-6) is a beginner course that teaches LabViews GUI and EV3 hardware, Cubelets, VEX Robotics, Cozmo, and Wonder Workshop Cue. This course takes students on an adventure of technology and creativity, as students go through a course in understanding computer science. Lessons are made to balance technology and programming with hands on educational learning, encouraged self thinking, and real world problem solving. Class lessons start with the information necessary to program robotics by applying logic and programming fundamentals within various GUI platforms. Students learn about and use conditional statements, if; then/else, wait, loops, data operations, etc, and use their knowledge to solve real world team challenges: SUMO, obstacle avoidance, maze programming, line follow, and more... Our curriculum supports NGSS standards through STEM learning and is taught by instructors following ISTE teaching standards. *Our curriculum supports beginner students as well as students with experience in coding and robotics.*
